The City of Cambridge Brass Band has been delighting audiences in the Cambridgeshire area and beyond since 1900. Our aim is to maintain the community-focused values of traditional brass band origins while also driving a contemporary 21st century musical agenda.
The band has played in a variety of venues across the region, from garden parties and beer festivals to private parties, weddings and formal concerts. Our repertoire is equally varied, including traditional brass band music, songs from the movies, swing, popular music and classical arrangements as well as many modern brass band compositions. Indeed the band has commissioned and performed a number of new works for brass band.
Our aim through all of this is to help bring people together, to inspire, to entertain and to continue to develop the brass band genre into the modern era. The band is currently also raising funds to start a Youth Band in order to help talented young brass players in the region develop their skills. This is an ambition we have held for a long time and we are very excited to begin to see it come to fruition. To donate or find out more about the Youth Band, please visit our Youth Band page.
We rehearse at Trumpington Village Hall on Wednesday evenings. To book the band or enquire about joining, please email email@example.com.
